Ian Brown awarded Fundraiser of the Year award
2nd October, 2019
We were incredibly proud to see Ian Brown awarded the Channel Islands Pride of Britain Fundraiser of the Year which is part of the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards. Ian set up the 30/30 Cycle Challenge back in 2008 to raise money for Les Bourgs Hospice which has helped raised an incredible £750k in the twelve years it has been running. The event has not only inspired hundreds of cyclists over the years to get on their bike but the 30/30 concept has also inspired a number of other fundraising events for the Hospice including the 30baysin30days event.
Ian was also co-founder of the male cancer charity "Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG)" in 2012 which runs campaigns to raise awareness around the symptoms and treatment of prostrate bowel and testicular cancers as well as raising money for new equipment and paying for Guernsey's first specialist male cancer nurse.
A truly inspiring man who's fundraising efforts we will be eternally grateful for.
