Working at a Hospice requires specialist skills and a particular dedication, which the team at Les Bourgs is renowned for.

Led by Director of Nursing Jo Boyd, the staff meet not only the nursing requirements of patients, but also provide invaluable support by listening to them, spending time with friends and family and discussing the sort of issues that occupy the minds of those who know that they have little time left.

Jo has long experience in Hospice care and has particular expertise in helping these unique places to redevelop and change so that modern requirements can be met.  ‘When I first saw Les Bourgs, I realised that it had a wonderful atmosphere but it was also instantly clear that it needed to be updated. Staff and helpers are amazingly good at working with the restrictions on site but things must change. If anyone tried to open Les Bourgs today, it would simply not gain the necessary permissions.’
