30 Bays in 30 Days Challenge

Memorable swims. Memorable summer.
Rediscover your love of sea swimming—or start a new one! This challenge is the perfect way to explore Guernsey’s stunning coastline, enjoy time with family and friends, and make the most of summer.

Back for 2026 - 15 Bays in 30 Days

If you’ve always wanted to take part but are short on time, this option is for you! Sign up, choose any 15 bays, and complete them at your own pace during July.

About the Event

Since its launch, 30 Bays in 30 Days has raised over £290,000 for Les Bourgs Hospice. The concept has inspired similar events in Jersey and Alderney, and has grown to include:

  • 9 Bays in 30 Days – perfect for younger families
  • 12 Bays of Christmas – a festive winter challenge
  • 5 Bays in 5 Days – supporting Alderney charities

By taking part, you’ll help Les Bourgs Hospice continue providing free, specialist palliative care and support to patients and their loved ones. We encourage participants to raise at least £30 in sponsorship or make a donation.

What is the Challenge?

Swim at least 30 strokes in 30 bays (or 15 bays if you choose the smaller challenge) during July.

  • Flexible timing – bank swims on weekends or when you have more time
  • Accessibility option – if mobility issues make some bays difficult, choose the ones that work for you and complete 30 swims there
  • Team option – register individually and share the bays between your group in any way that suits you

Extras

  • Every entry receives a beautifully illustrated map by Caroline Cummins (Little Paper Gallery) to tick off your swims.
  • Option to purchase a framed keepsake of your summer swims.
  • Beach Clean option in partnership with Plastic Free Guernsey—perfect for non-swimmers who want to support the event and protect our coastline.
