🧵 Little Quilts, Big Hugs: A Community Project with Heart

We’re proud to support Little Quilts, Big Hugs — a community-based quilting initiative that brings comfort and warmth to those who need it most.

This beautiful project creates handmade quilts to be gifted to children and siblings through the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, and to patients and their families at Les Bourgs Hospice. Each quilt is a symbol of care, compassion, and connection.

Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced quilter, everyone is welcome to get involved. It’s a wonderful way to contribute your time and creativity to a cause that truly makes a difference.

The project is led by Megs Bailey, who previously brought the Liberation Community Bunting Project to life. With Little Quilts, Big Hugs, Megs hopes to offer an extra hug — stitched with love — to those facing difficult times.

The first batch of quilts was presented to Les Bourgs Hospice and the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation at the project’s launch. Letishia, Care Manager at Les Bourgs, described the moment as “It’s like Christmas!” — a testament to the joy and comfort these quilts bring.

Some of the quilts will be used in the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation flats in Southampton, offering warmth and reassurance to families staying far from home.

Donation baskets are now available at the tills in Craftwise and Creaseys Haberdashery. If you’d like to purchase and donate fabric for the quilters to use, any amount is appreciated — the only requirement is that it must be 100% NEW cotton, and any design is welcome.
